What is NetSuite User Types and Benefits

NetSuite is flexible and robust software helping many businesses to transfer their work in the new digital jewels which make the most out of opportunities posed to them. It also caters to various types of industry based on the requirement. This makes it have a diverse user base. Some of the user types supported by NetSuite solution are;

  • Employee
  • Vendor
  • Partner
  • Customer

Each type of user is permitted to provide role dependent access and functionality. It provides each user with a different level of access to NetSuite and user types can be customized for more control options based on needs.

How can these NetSuite User Types be deployed within an organization?

Employee Users:

Before describing, it is necessary to observe that there are two forms of licenses available. These forms are Full licenses and employee self-service licenses and based on the options available to users.

Full user License:

This allows you access to most of the areas of application granted to them by their permit and security based on role. For transacting regularly one must have a full user license. A full user license is commonly allocated to members of a functional team who leverage NetSuite. This helps in performing daily tasks such as financial duties, management roles or inventory management.

Employee Self-service license:

These are given to an employee that needs to work on tracking project time, feed paid time off,  and submit the reports of expenses. These are extremely short-sighted in scope and are just 1/5th the cost of full user license. Users are further divided based on role, permits and restrict access to different areas. Roles can be custom made which meets the needs of different departments or functions of an organization.

NetSuite Suite success model normally comes with pre-configured roles which are designed to limit visibility and access. However, all these types of roles can be customized to make sure the employees have proper tools to achieve their targets.

Vendor user:

This type of user has a permit to access only if the vendor access option is enabled over the Web presence sub tab at set up. Normally, the permit given to the vendor will be checked using the vendor center. This helps vendors to view, print and search the purchase order.

They also can refer to the purchase order by themselves to answer the queries and also view what the order is and its payment history. It provides a level of self-service and helps to take off friction in the customer relationship. The vendor users are permitted at no cost, making sure that the work undertaken is scalable as the business expands.

Partner User:

These users, in general, are given to 3rd party developers, administrators and designers that companies hire to assist with NetSuite. Only authorized users are given the partner license. The allotted licence may be from Alliance partner, Suite cloud development network partner, solution provider partner or commerce agency partner.

Access to partner users must be enabled either by partner relationship management feature on the CRM tab. Or by Partner access on the web presence sub tab. Roles per partner can be given under the default partner center or even customized roles can also be given based on the email address.

Customer User:

We can give a permit to the customer only if the “Give Access Box” is checked. The customer center is a very necessary tool which allows your customer to update contact data and preferred subscription as per requirement.

They also have a permit to see account details, search queries, submit the issues on support. It also supports users to carry out transactions and give payment information. Same as vendor users the customer vendors are also allowed to allocate for free and limited to the customer center.

These are types of NetSuite user base which provide a wide variety of features, helping an organization to excel because of their dynamic nature. Get the best NetSuite Application Developer Service from Suiteactive.
